Both professionals were participants of the AFRICA 2009 3rd Regional Course on Conservation and Management of Immovable Cultural Heritage held in Mombasa in 2001.
  • An exchange was organized with the University of Zimbabwe to allow Dr. George Abungu to go for a two week period as a lecturer in the Department of Archaeology for the Heritage Resources Management Programme.

Of the four who did participate, three played official roles in the meeting and two presented papers to the scientific symposium.
  • A travel grant was awarded to Assita Traore of the DPC of Burkina Faso to participate in a project in northern Ghana, working with the Nankani women. These women decorate their houses with mural paintings in a traditional manner which is shared across the border in Burkina Faso.
